Project objectives:
- Revitalization of forests in the Spačva-Bosut Basin to preserve biodiversity and enhance resilience to climate change.
- Strengthening cross-border capacities to improve the resilience of forest ecosystems to climate change.
Planned activities:
- Baseline assessment – data collection from existing sources and advanced field research.
- Development of a Green Action Plan to improve the state of forest ecosystems in the Spačva-Bosut Basin.
- Preparation and establishment of pilot areas.
- Joint demonstration of pilot area restoration using innovative forest renewal solutions.
- Establishment of a cross-border gene bank.
- Joint development of solutions for forest ecosystem restoration.
- Dissemination of results and preparation of solutions for adoption by relevant organizations.
Expected project outcomes:
- Development of a joint Green Action Plan.
- New methodologies for soil preparation and planting.
- A model for forest ecosystem restoration.
