Production of Forest Seedling Material in the Nurseries of Public Water Management Company “Vode Vojvodine”

Abstract

Nurseries of Public water management company "Vode Vojvodine" are facilities for the production of poplars and willows, and we also produce some other kinds of seedlings such as: elm, black locust, oak, etc. The production itself takes place on deep alluvial soil, and we produce seeding material in two ways: vegetative and generative.The production facilities are composed in several sections where we use appropriate agro-technical measures and care that is needed for breeding seeding material. These facilities are in fact a unique system that is fully adapted to the specific needs and characteristics of the water management field and business. Their role and purpose is adapted to the needs of a successful maintenance and reconstruction of existing forests along the canals Danube-Tisa-Danube and establishing continuity of forest management in general.
