
Др Андреј Пилиповић је дипломирао 2001. године на Шумарском факултету Универзитета у Београду. Магистрирао је на Пољопривредном факултету Универзитета у Новом Саду 2005. године , а докторску дисертацију под називом “Фиторемедијација нафтом контаминираних земљишта врстама родова Популус Л. и Салиx Л.“ одбранио 2012.године на Природно-математичком факултету Универзитета у Новом Саду.
Од марта 2002. године је запослен на Институту за низијско шумарство и животну средину из Новог Сада. Од 2014. године ангажован је на Пољопривредном факултету Универзитета у Новом Саду, на извођењу наставе на докторским студијама.
Поред студија, стручно усавршавање је обављао кроз боравке на ражличитим радионицама и научним институцијама ван Србије: EUFORGEN Workshop on Conservation of forest genetic resources (Pushkino, Russian Federation), Forest Research Institute (Zvolen, Slovakia), Fondazione Edmund Mach. Institute of Institute for alpine ecology (Trento, Italy), University of Poznan (Poznan, Poland), USDA Forest Service Northern Research Station (Rhinelander, Wisconsin, USA).
Учествовао и учествује у реализацији већег броја међународних и националних пројеката.
Др Андреј Пилиповић учествује у раду "European Forest Genetic Resources Programme (EUFORGEN)". Подпредседник је радне групе WP5 Environmental and Ecosystem Services Међународне комисије за тополе при UN-FAO. Члан је "Друштва генетичара Србије" и редакционих одбора часописа: "South-East European Forestry (SEEFOR)" и "Топола".
